The "Word"
explained:
Welcome to The "Word" Explained. This
site is designed as an an online Bible Study.
Having spent the majority of my fifty-eight years, either
"being raised as a "preacher's kid" or as a
Minster of the Gospel myself, I have concluded that a
real problem
exists in the majority of all churches today.
This problem is the lack of "real Biblical Knowledge," or
the apparent existence of gross "Bible
illiteracy" not only amongst the
laity, but also
the clergy
alike.
Most people view the Bible as
just another book, not realizing that it must be
understood spiritually. The Bible is a book for the human
soul! A Moslem
knows the Koran, a Jew knows the Torah, but
most Christians have very little "working
knowledge" of the Word of God.
The first two writings might affect the readers "outward" change,"
but only the Bible will ever affect any "inward"
change!
Alas, most Christians do not understand this and
try hard to affect change in their lives. But
theses results are only external and very
rarely is there any sign lasting inward
change. God tells us , "My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge" (Hosea 4:6, KJV) We are
destroyed both physically and spiritually. The
real "issues of life" are not about a person's rights!
(whose
right, whose wrong, civil, women's, gay's
rights, etc.) The "issue" is understanding God and His
word, which is Jesus Christ!
Right from the start, from the "get-go," a person needs to
realize one important major fact! Contrary to
what one has been taught, or believe, one must understand, Christianity is NOT
A DEMOCRACY, NOR is it a REPUBLIC!
Christians, as citizens of the Kingdom of
God, have NO rights other than what is
allowed by their king!
Christianity is a
Kingdom, ruled by a King!!!
In truth, it is a Theocracy. As such, all people
who abide in this kingdom, cannot "do as they please," but rather they
must "do as they are commanded!"
Paul states, very clearly, "Now
then we are ambassadors for Christ, as
though God did beseech you by us: we pray
you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to
God." (2 Corinthians 5:120, KJV)
An
ambassador, according to Webster, "is the official
representative of one state to another," and
as such he has no will of his own but can
speak only what he is told to speak.
Jesus Christ,
"Believest thou not that I am in the Father,
and the Father in me? the words that I speak
unto you I speak not of myself: but the
Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the
works." (John 14:10, KJV)
As a Christian then, it becomes no longer an
issue of what I "believe," but rather
it is an
issue of "what I believe in light of God's
word." Jesus says, in
John 14:15, "If ye
love me, keep my commandments."
(KJV) He then goes on to say, "
If ye keep my
commandments , ye shall abide in my love;
even as I have kept my Father's
commandments, and abide in his love."
(,John 15:10, KJV) Therefore as a Christian, it is not what
"you as an individual believe,"
but rather "What does God have to say..."
Christians are supposed to be "the light if the world;
"the salt of the earth." But if we are living like
every other "Tom, Dick or Harry," what light is
there for the world to see? What seasoning are we
providing? The Apostle Paul reminds us, "it is no longer
I who lives, but Christ Who lives within
me."
In these studies, I try and offer insight, explanation
and in some instances
"revelation knowledge" into the word of God.
My teaching is not "too deep to understand."
As a student of God's word, realize this; "the Bible is NOT a book of history, philosophy,
psychology or even science. No, it is a book concerned with just one
thing. That one thing; "God's quest to regain
access to a man's soul." And we will soon discover this quest
leads directly to Jesus Christ....
"Jesus saith unto him, I am
the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father , but by me. (John 14:6, KJV)
